Wild fires once again forcing residents to evacuate homes on the east side of Hutchinson.
The high winds contributed to the fires in Reno County that broke out at around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with roads being blocked on east 30th avenue to allow fire crews access to the blaze.
The Kansas Forest Service reported in a Facebook post that it and a Tanker 95 were responding to a fire in Marion County, 2 miles east of U.S.
Highway 77 and Kansas Highway 150 at around 4:00.
Buhler USD 313 canceled busing districtwide Tuesday afternoon because of all the closed roads.
And in Butler County they began evacuations due to a fire west of El Dorado which was eventually brought under control.
The fires prompted the governor to issue a disaster declaration which makes state resources available to counties battling the fires.
