Thanks to light wintry mix of light freezing rain, sleet and snow across the city, most roadways are completely snow and ice covered.
Emergency crews have responded to several accidents today and the Emergency Accident Reporting Plan (EARP) is in effect for the city of Wichita.
City snow plows and KDOT crews are out and about but you'll want to go much slower than usual and be sure to allow for extra stopping distance.
Here are some snow totals from the National Weather Service:
5 ENE Willowbrook (Reno County): 1.0 - 1.5"
3 S Bridgeport (McPherson County): 1.0"
5 S Goessel (Harvey County): 0.5"
3 NNW Plevna (Reno County): 0.4"
1 N Goddard (Sedgwick County): 0.3"
1 NNE Cheney (Sedgwick County): 0.2"
A winter weather advisory remains in effect until Midnight. Look for falling temperatures during the day.
