Fatal shooting & a stabbing: two separate cases at the same time in S. Wichita

A 69-year-old man has died following a shooting in Wichita.

It happened at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Seneca Place Apartments in the 2100 block of S. Seneca, north of Pawnee.

Police arrived, finding the victim dead inside an apartment from gunfire.

At that same time, police were also disptached to the report of a stabbing in the 1600 block of E. Jump Street, west of Hydraulic and south of Pawnee.

Witnesses told investigators the victim was cut by his neighbor. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition with cuts to his arm.

The suspect in the stabbing ran away from the scene.
