A 39-year-old Wichita resident died Tuesday morning after his pickup truck collided with a bridge near the intersection of K-15 Highway and 55th Street South, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities identified the victim as Luis M. Cardenas of Wichita.
The crash was discovered around 9:15 a.m. when a Kansas Department of Transportation worker came upon the wrecked Ford F-250 pickup just north of the intersection. Cardenas, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene after an apparent ejection.
The sheriff's office has not released information about what may have caused the crash.
