A survey from the financial news website Finance Buzz claims that Wichita is the second most boring city in the nation. The metrics used to reach that conclusion include the culinary scene, tourism numbers, outdoor activities, and signature events and attractions.
Wichita didn't fare as poorly as Jacksonville, Fla., which took the title of “the most boring city in the U.S." Corpus Christi, Texas comes in third. Also notable on the list of the 20 most boring cities in the U.S. is Oklahoma City at No. 7, Colorado Springs at No. 14 and Tulsa at No. 15.
When it comes to Wichita, the survey noted that “while the population makeup of the city and the availability of outdoor recreation activities stack up fairly well with other cities, food and tourism are where Wichita falters.” The survey seems to judge events and attractions solely based on the tourism numbers and not an appraisal of Wichita's attractions.
