The Wichita City Council will consider five options for a new parking plan at the council's November 19th meeting. Mayor Lily Wu explains three options have some sort of paid parking that is new for the downtown, Old Town, and Delano areas. Wu says the fourth option is a "status quo option," in which nothing is changed. The fifth option is a hybrid, with parking management downtown, but not in Old Town or Delano.
Wichita's new homeless shelter is about to open at the former Park Elementary school building on north Main. Mayor Wu says Humankind Ministries will operate the shelter for the start, November 28th. But the contract ends March 31st. At that time the Multi-Agency Center (MAC) takes over.
Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor, on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
