A former Sedgwick County jail deputy, who allegedly allowed inmates to smuggle contraband into the facility was in court on Friday.
Dustin Burnett, 22, is charged with two counts of official misconduct; destroy/tamper/conceal felony evidence.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff's office said that Burnett observed inmates remove a pipe to break a window, and use a sheet to get the contraband into their pod, but did not stop it or tell anyone.
An investigation is ongoing. His bond was set at $150,000. His next court appearance was set for Aug. 1.
