After being delayed because of the pandemic, free dental care is coming back to Wichita on July 23-24 at Century II downtown, as part of the Kansas Mission of Mercy initiative.
Hundreds of Kansas dental professionals provide free dental work once a year for people who can't afford it.
Doors open at 5:30 a.m. Friday at Century II, on a first-come, first-served basis for extractions, fillings, and other dental needs; breakfast & lunch is also available for those waiting.
The program has provided more than $19 million in dental care to more than 30,000 patients since it started in the early 2000s.
Cleanings are not provided this year, and masks are required.
