One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. The annual free skin cancer screening clinic is Saturday in Wichita. Dermatologist Dr. Landon Johnson tells KNSS News no insurance is required and no appointment is necessary. They can't treat people, but can point out suspicious spots that need further attention from a doctor.
Dr. Johnson says they examine between 200 and 400 people at the clinic each year. He says about 20% of the people they screen has some kind of suspicious spot that needs treatment.
The free clinic is Saturday at the KU School of Medicine, 1010 north Kansas from 8 am to noon.
