Cornell McNeal, 34, was convicted Thursday in the November 2014 death of Letitia Davis.  Prosecutors alleged she was walking home when she was raped, beaten and set on fire in Fairmount Park near 17th and Hillside.  She died eight days later.

Davis, told investigators that she didn't know her attacker.  It took the jury four hours to reach a verdict.

Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett says he was pleased with the verdict.  Sentencing was set for August 18.
