As the pandemic winds down, businesses are looking to hire back workers. Sedgwick County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the healthcare labor pool has taken a hit from COVID, with workers retiring, taking leaves, or moving into other fields of work. Meitzner says the community needs to pay attention to the fact that local hospitals are "a little strained right now" when it comes to personnel.
At Wednesday's weekly meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will look at money matters, including grants from the federal government to deal with the pandemic.
