The Kansas Highway Patrol said that human waste, not manure as previously suspected, was the cause of a crash and a mess on the Canal Route in N. Wichita.
The spill happened on I-135 near 21st Street on Tuesday morning, when a commercial vehicle from the waste treatment plant in Hutchinson spilled human waste onto the highway.
The spill resulted a non-injury crash, and caused a motorcycle to tip over.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was cited for “losing his load,” according to the KHP.
