Sedgwick County says don't call 9-1-1 to report fireworks, parties and excess noise.
Instead, call the county's non-emergency phone number at 316-290-1011. The line will be available from Friday, June 27, through Sunday, July 6 from 6 p.m. - 3 a.m. This line will take calls that do not involve a threat to life or property and allows 9-1-1 dispatchers to focus on actual emergencies.
As fireworks sales have started locally, remember that each city in the county determines its own rules when fireworks can be discharged and what kinds are allowed. You are encouraged to buy fireworks where you plan to discharge them.
You are also encouraged to visit the 2025 Firework Sales and Discharge Dates on the county's web site. There you will find a list of cities and dates to legally buy and shoot fireworks, or check with your town for specific fireworks regulations.
