Sedgwick County Fire investigators have determined the cause of a long burning fire at the Evergreen recycling business in Park City. Officials said it was due to spontaneous combustion, which takes place when low ignition temperature materials (like wood, wood chips and mulch) self-heat and auto-ignite.
Firefighters were able to leave Tuesday, Nov. 8th, after fighting the fire since it began on Oct. 30th. The estimated loss of raw wood products is $1-million-dollars.
