A 4-year-old southeast Kansas child died after an accidental electrical shock.
Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a 4-year-old not breathing just after 9:30 Thursday night. The child was playing in the home in Savonburg and was allegedly shocked by a 220-volt dryer.
The parents drove to a local hospital in Chanute with the child, who later died.
In a press release, the sheriff’s office says the incident appears to have been a tragic accident. While the incident is under investigation, no foul play is suspected at this time.
