Kansas lawmakers urged to bring back remote learning options

Remote learning

A new mask requirement begins Monday for students in Wichita Public Schools, amid concerns of rising cases of COVID in young people.

The School Board voted to enact the new requirement Monday Night. There are no plans to return to remote learning due to a law signed by Gov. Laura Kelly to limit the amount of time students spend learning remotely.

District 3 represented Ernestine Krehbiel says they will bring up the issue again with legislative leaders.  "We are to have a meeting this weekend in Topeka," Krehbile said.

The committee in Topeka will accept the recommendations from the board members from around the state, and they will then vote on the issues December 16th.
