A Kansas lottery player is one of two winners who will share a Powerball jackpot worth $143.4 million after the drawing on Wednesday, April 29.
Lottery officials say the winning ticket in Kansas matched all six numbers, tying with another jackpot-winning ticket sold in Indiana. The prize will be split between the two winners, significantly reducing each individual payout.
The jackpot had climbed to $143.4 million following multiple drawings without a grand prize winner, with a cash option estimated at around $65 million.
Kansas allows lottery winners to remain anonymous, so it’s not yet known where in the state the winning ticket was sold or who purchased it.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week, and jackpots continue to grow until a ticket matches all five white balls and the Powerball.
