The Kansas State Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal fire in the town of Auburn, in northeast Kansas.

Thursday’s fire broke out in a home in the 500 block of N. School Street. Auburn Police responded to the residence for a domestic-related situation. Approximately 15 minutes after a man had left the home with the kids, a neighbor called 911 to report the fire.

Officers responded and attempted to locate the victim, 47-year-old Toka Flickinger, but were unable to reach her. Flickinger was found by suppression crews in the bathtub, in water.

Officials say the fire had multiple points of origin in front of the bathroom, trapping the victim. The KSFM says no suspects are being sought at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for early this week.
