The Kansas Supreme Court has ruled against Stephen Bodine's appeal in a murder case that claimed the life of a former mayor's grandchild.
In October of 2018 Stephen Bodine was found guilty of abusing and killing Evan Brewer, 3, the grandson of former Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer. The child's body was found encased in concrete.
The boy's mother Miranda Miller pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and other charges. In 2019, Bodine was convicted and sentenced to 109 years in prison. Bodine appealed, but on Friday the Kansas Supreme Court affirmed the conviction.
