A Kansas woman was sentenced to a little more than 24 years in prison for the murder of her husband, a U.S. Army soldier.
Back in February, a federal jury found Margaret Shafe, 31, guilty of second-degree murder for killing her husband, Greg Shafe, in February 2024 in their home at Fort Riley. Evidence presented at the trial showed Shafe shot her husband in the face while in the presence of her two young daughters.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Department of Army Criminal Investigation Division, and Fort Riley Fire and Emergency Services investigated the case.
