The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating after a fatal crash in Cowley County. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday a little over a mile north of the Arkansas City roundabout on U.S. 77.
According to the KBI a northbound car crossed the center line and collided with a southbound minivan. The driver of the minivan, 71-year-old Connie Hurst of Arkansas City was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the car and a passenger in the minivan were taken to the hospital. Another passenger in the minivan, a 12-year-old girl, was also taken to the hospital as a precaution; but the KHP says her injuries were minimal.
