The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is warning Kansans not to consume gummies, chocolates, or any other products labeled as Diamond Shruumz brand. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced it is recalling Diamond Shruumz-brand products and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating 58 reports of severe illness, including 30 hospitalizations and one potentially associated death, across multiple states. KDHE is investigating two possible cases associated with this outbreak.

Symptoms associated with reactions to the product include seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, abnormal heart rates, high or low blood pressure, nausea and vomiting. KDHE says anyone experiencing symptoms after consuming the product should seek immediate medical attention or call the Poison Help Line at 1-800-222-1222. They ask anyone who consumed the products after January 1st and experienced symptoms, to please fill out the KDHE confidential illness report form. Products were sold online and at a variety of retail locations across the United States.
