The Kansas Department of Labor has released the October and November 2025 Kansas Labor Reports. Preliminary estimates show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.8% in November. This is unchanged from 3.8% in September and unchanged from 3.8% in November 2024. Seasonally adjusted job estimates for Kansas indicate total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 3,800 from October.
The largest job gains in the private sector were in trade, transportation, and utilities which added over 1,500 jobs. The largest decrease was in leisure and hospitality with a loss of 300 jobs.
The report covered October and November 2025 as all Bureau of Labor Statistics operations were suspended in October as a result of the federal government shutdown.
