The Kansas Department of Transportation is hosting the first public meeting for the K-254 Corridor Management Plan.

The meeting will take place in the Commons Area of Circle Middle School at 14697 SW 20th St. in Benton, on Tuesday, June 27th. The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Municipalities, government agencies, property owners and individuals along K-254 in Sedgwick and Butler counties are encouraged to attend.

During the meeting, the public will be able to review exhibits about the corridor, ask questions and share their thoughts and input. A presentation will be given at 5:45 p.m.

The area includes 22 miles of K-254, from Wichita on the west to El Dorado on the east (and within 1 mile of the highway). The goal of the K-254 Corridor Management Plan is to establish future land development and an access management approach that serves the communities while keeping traffic moving efficiently and safely. The planning process is beginning this summer and will continue through the summer of 2024.

Anyone who requires language translation, special assistance or accommodation to attend the meeting should contact Tim Potter, Public Affairs Manager, tim.potter@ks.gov, 620-727-2278, at least one week before the meeting.
