Recently, it was reported that unspecified threats had been made against Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple. Special 24/7 police protection was put in place for the mayor and his family. Mayor Whipple tells KNSS News the threats have to be being taken seriously. Whipple says he won't be intimidated but he needs to keep his family's safety in mind.
At Tuesday's meeting, the Wichita City Council will take another look at raising water and sewer rates and fees, by an average of 37 dollars per year. Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple tells KNSS News the money is needed for a water treatment plant and to maintain the infrastructure.
The city council is looking for ways to help those who can least afford to pay a water bill increase. Whipple commented during Mondays with the Mayor on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
