Utility companies and fire officials are trying to locate what 911 dispatchers called a "major gas leak" in E. Wichita, in the area of 2nd Street & the Canal Route.

Second Street has been closed east of I-135, and motorists have been asked to avoid the area of 2nd Street and 1st Street, and those areas around the Canal Route. Some of the I-135 ramps with access to those two streets have been shut down as well.
