A man was arrested suspected of multiple charges including attempting to steal a Wichita Fire Department vehicle as crews responded to a medical call.
It happened late Tuesday afternoon at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of west 13th.
First responders reported an individual acting suspicious as they were assisting a patient. As they were preparing to transport the patient, they saw someone driving the departments Squad 7 vehicle around the building.
Police said the suspect, 21, jumped out of the driver’s seat and began to run. They were taken into custody on suspicion of interference with EMS, interference with a firefighter, criminal trespass, breach of privacy and auto theft.
