A man has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and child sex crimes after a minor was sexually assaulted a Wichita school bus stop.
Gonzalo Ramirez, 31, made his first court appearance on Thursday where he was charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated kidnapping, and indecent liberties with a child.
On Tuesday morning, around 5:45 a.m., police were called to the 1500 block of South Kansas for a report of a sexual assault of a minor.
Police say the minor was waiting for a school bus when she was approached by the suspect, who was not known to her. Police say he lured the minor into a vehicle and committed the assault.
Officers quickly arrested the Ramirez and booked him into the Sedgwick County Jail.
Ramirez has been given electronic monitoring and was ordered not to have any contact with the girl, or any child under the age of 18. His bond is set at $500,000.
His next court date is set for September 29.
