A man originally charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 51-year-old male victim in the southeast part of Wichita earlier this year has been sentenced.
The judge sentenced William Ball to more than four-and-a-half years in prison, and three years of post-release supervision.
Ball pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Brian Edwards in March. Ball was 24 years old at the time of the stabbing.
The stabbing occurred on March 10 in the 4100 block of E. Whitney Lane, near George Washington Blvd. & Pawnee. Arriving emergency crews found Edwards suffering from a stab wound to his upper body, which proved fatal.
