After being suspended last week, the Marion Chief of Police Gideon Cody officially resigned at Monday's City Council Meeting.
Cody's resignation comes almost two months after the Marion Police Department served a warrant on the office of the Marion County Record Newspaper, and the home of the paper's owner.
The KBI continues to investigate the police raid on the paper.
Officer Zach Hudlin has been appointed as interim chief.
