A mixed verdict has been returned in the trial of a man accused of shooting of a teenager in the Goddard Walmart parking lot last year, leaving him paralyzed.
Ruben Contreras, 47, was found guilty Friday of aggravated battery. However, the jury found him not guilty of attempted first-degree murder.
Contreras remains free on bond pending sentencing.
A status hearing is scheduled for January 20.
