The Kansas Department of Health and Environment say the state currently has thirty-seven cases of measles in eight counties in the southwest part of the state.

Finney, Ford, Grant, Gray, and Morton counties each have fewer than five cases. Haskell County has the most cases, with eight, Stevens County has seven, and Kiowa County has six.

According to the C-D-C, measles typically begins with a high fever, possibly spiking to more than 104, a cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes.

The measles rash appears 3 to 5 days after symptoms begin.
