Sedgwick County may have a new election commissioner within a few days. Angela Caudillo resigned from the post in December. Sedgwick County Commission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News a special committee has been helping Secretary of State Scott Schwab find the best person for the job, and they are reportedly down to just two candidates. A decision could be coming within a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, it's business-as-usual at the election office. They recently held an election on a sales tax in Kechi. The county commission canvassed those several hundred votes last week. The election office staff is looking forward to new leadership, Mietzner says.
