Old Town shooting leaves one injured, one arrested

One person was injured overnight in a shooting in Wichita's Old Town area.

The incident happened around 1:35 Sunday morning in the 100 block of N. Mosley.

Wichita Police were patrolling in the area when they heard several gunshots from a parking lot. As police arrived on the scene, one officer witnessed the suspect, 27-year-old Andres Minor, running away from the scene. Police quickly placed him in custody while other officers found the victim, a 33-year-old man, with several gunshot wounds to his lower body. EMS arrived to transport the victim to an area hospital in serious condition but with no life-threatening injuries.

Minor was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and unlawful discharge of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.
