A three-alarm fire in downtown Wichita Saturday night has claimed the life of one person.
Wichita Firefighters were dispatched around 9:50 p.m., to the area near Broadway and Murdock. Fire crews found two homes involved. A search of the homes found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The blaze was brought under control within a half hour but crews are still on the scene Sunday morning working on hot spots.
Both homes were boarded-up and should have been unoccupied. Wichita Fire crews and the Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office are working to determine what started the fire.
