One man was killed, and two people were injured in a mobile home fire south of Wichita.
The blaze began at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 7100 block of S. Volutsia, between Derby & Haysville. The location of the fire was to the east of 71st Street South & Hydraulic, in a neighborhood nestled between the Big Ditch and the Arkansas River.
Fire crews from Wichita, Sedgwick County, and Derby located a significant fire inside the mobile home. Emergency crews worked to revive a person found outside the home, but that victim died. Two other people were hospitalized in critical condition.
