Opening Day for the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson

The annual Kansas State Fair has opened for its annual 10-day run in Hutchinson. Activities include livestock exhibitions and competitions, amusement rides, food exhibitions, and live music.

The fair is billed as the largest single event in the state, attracting approximately 350,000 people annually. Some new events for 2024 include: Pig races, Goat yoga, and Seniors Got Talent.

The Fairground’s newest addition, the 1861 Club, is an indoor venue offering fine dining, beverages, and entertainment.

The fair's history in Reno County dates back to the 1800s. The fair in Hutchinson has been the "official" State Fair now for the state of Kansas for 112 years.
