Residents in the Butler County community of Leon returned to their homes earlier this morning after a structure fire resulted in evacuations.
Fire crews responded around 12:30 a.m. to a building fire in the 200 block of south Main. Around 45 minutes later, officials ordered evacuations due to chemicals stored at the facility.
Residents affected were briefly sheltered at Bluestem High School before the all-clear was given before 4 a.m. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
