Police have identified a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run incident in the south part of Wichita.
It happened early Wednesday evening near the intersection of Mt. Vernon & Washington.
Investigators believe 48-year-old Christian Zelenka was crossing the street on Mt. Vernon, just west of Washington, when he was struck by a silver/gray sedan.
“It’s dark and maybe not well-lit. It’s a residential neighborhood here. So, you know, you gotta slow down and look for folks,” said police Lt. Lee Eisenbise.
The sedan left the scene west-bound on Mt. Vernon.
