Sedgwick County Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News plans are going forward to construct a new state psychiatric hospital at Meridian and MacArthur, in southwest Wichita. Baty says, "the governor's office has indicated that is a 'go' and we're moving forward with our conceptual design."
The Spring severe weather season is here, and that means testing the tornado sirens across Sedgwick County every Monday at noon. Baty says it's a matter of being prepared, and those sirens are meant to alert people who are outdoors.
Baty also says the county is working with the Kansas Legislature to make sure the county's interests are being protected.
Baty commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
