Wichita police have arrested a man, 53, in connection with a shooting that took place Thursday afternoon in the 900 block of North Terrace.
At approximately 1:08 p.m., officers were alerted by a Raven gunshot detection system to a possible shooting in the area. Responding officers determined that a disturbance had occurred between two individuals who were known to each other. During the altercation, one of the individuals was shot and left the scene in a private vehicle.
About an hour later, the man’s girlfriend called 911. Officers and EMS responded to the 2400 block of South Minnesota, where they located a man, 47, with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect was taken into custody. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on one count of aggravated battery and two counts of aggravated assault.
The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
