Wichita police say a child was injured in a hit and run accident in southwest Wichita. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of south Meridian.
A police spokesman says witnesses described two vehicles that were racing when the accident happened. A boy, 9, was hit and taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
Witnesses described the first vehicle as a red, lowered truck. The other was described as a grey or dark colored pickup.
