Police say an 82-year-old Kansas City, Kansas man was killed when a vehicle hit him and another pedestrian before running into a building.

Lawrence Walford died when he was struck by the vehicle Thursday outside a Walmart in the Legends Outlet shopping area in Kansas City, Kansas. Police spokeswoman Nancy Chartrand says another pedestrian who was hit has been released from the hospital.
The 56-year-old driver remains hospitalized in critical condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation but Chartrand said there is no indication it was intentional and the driver might have suffered a medical emergency before the collision.
