A man died following an accident in southeast Wichita. It happened around 8:00 a.m. Monday morning on Pawnee, below the I-135 overpass.
Officers arrived and found the driver, identified as Jeramie Santee, 47, unconscious and not breathing. They began life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
Investigators say Santee was driving a black 2019 Chevy Silverado westbound on Pawnee and collided with a concrete pillar below I-135.
No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries occurred. Speed is believed to have been a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
