Police: Man arrested in Wichita grocery store disturbance

Police say they have made an arrest in a disturbance Wednesday at a south Wichita grocery store.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the Dillons at 31st South and Seneca.  Investigators said employees and store securit officers reported that a man started a disturbance with one of the employees, who asked the man to calm down and leave.  The man than began to throw punches at the employee.

Security officers detained the man until he calmed down. However, after they let him go, they say he threatened workers, before leaving the store and got into his car.

Witnesses told police the man drove his car toward the entrance where workers were standing, and then he drove away. No injuries or damage were reported.

Police later arrested a man, 37, and booked him on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated criminal threat.
