The Wichita Police Department (WPD) is investigating a traffic collision that fatally injured Michael Llamas, 68, of Wichita.
At approximately 9:20 pm, Thursday night, WPD officers responded to an injury accident of a pedestrian versus a vehicle at the intersection of West and Murdock.
Officers located the man who was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS.
The investigation revealed that the man was crossing from the west side to the east side of West Street and slightly south of Murdock when he was struck by a gray in color, Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling northbound on West Street and driven by a woman, 24.
Currently, neither speed nor impairment are believed to be contributing factors to the accident. The investigation is ongoing.

This is the 12th fatality collision for the year and the 12th fatality.
