A Wichita Police Officer was arrested for driving under the influence. The incident happened Friday in Clearwater.
The Wichita Department, (WPD), was notified by the Clearwater Police that they had arrested an off-duty Wichita Police officer on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The officer was identified as Alex Gardinier, a six year veteran assigned to the Field Services Division. He was arrested, cited and released for a misdemeanor charge of DUI and speeding.
He has been moved to an administrative assignment. The Clearwater Police Department is investigating the case, and an internal review will take place by the WPD.
