March 3rd through the 7th is Severe Weather Awareness Week across Kansas. Spear-heading the effort locally is Sedgwick County Emergency Management Director Julie Stimson, who tells KNSS News her department's mission isn't just weather-related. They also help prepare for other disasters, such as chemical spills and other hazardous material releases.
Director Stimson is our guest this weekend on Issues 2025, Sunday morning at 8 on KNSS. Another topic of discussion; the testing of tornado sirens in the county and improvements that are being made to the sirens.
