At Wednesday's Sedgwick County Commission meeting, we learned more about local property value trends.
The county says inflation, labor shortages, the tight supply of housing and supply chain issues are all impacting home values.
In 2022, there were nearly 227 thousand residential parcels in the county. The number now is close to 230 thousand. Much of that growth has been in Maize, Park City and Goddard, along with the northwest and east part of Wichita.
80 percent of residential parcels will see an increase in value, with a typical change of 10 percent.
Value notices will be mailed to property owners on March 1 and appeals will be heard starting March 16th.
