A final public meeting is scheduled ahead of Monday's school board meeting and expected vote concerning the potential closing of six Wichita public schools. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the USD 259 Administrative Center on south Edgemoor.

Anyone who would like to address the Board of Education at the meeting needs to register in advance with the Clerk of the Board by calling (316) 973-4553.

The district has proposed closing six schools at the end of the school year to cut a minimum of $16 million in Phase 2 budget reductions. The six schools are Clark Elementary, Cleveland Elementary, Park Elementary, Payne Elementary, Hadley Middle School, and Jardine Magnet Middle School.
